Same as European Studies 307M. Introduction to musical styles in the Euro-American art music tradition between the Middle Ages and the present day. Designed to foster critical listening and thinking about music, and deepen understanding of the vital role that music has played and continues to play in society and in individual lives. Three lecture hours a week for one semester, with one laboratory hour a week as required.
